HeLp!!!!

This little sweetheart will be turning twelve in a few weeks and we need to throw her a fantastic "girl" party.  Taylor has undergone an evolution of sorts over the past year, deciding that girl stuff is not quite that bad.  She has decided that you can still be a very active, sporty girl and yet still embrace other feminine qualities and attributes.  So, we were thinking that a fun girls night is just what she needs to mark this auspicious occasion.  We need ideas as we are generally not a very girlie household - which is quite flabbergasting as girls outnumber boys 3 to 2.  We were wondering what such a party would entail.  Would we do a fabulous craft?  And if so - what?  Would it be scrapbookish, or involve fabric, or would we make accessories, or some other random craft? Or would we just do pizza and a movie?  Or manicures?  What are twelve year old girls capable of?  Can you tell I am a first timer?  HELP!   Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Please make your comments as lengthy as necessary to get us through this grand occasion.  Please, with sugar on top and a cherry!

you could go to evans salon school and do pedicures/manicures for REALLY cheap, or you could host your own with bath salts in soaker tubs (aka- pink hospital puke buckets) foot files, toe separater thingies, choice in nail polish, nail jewels, etc. oh, i'm jealous! can i come taylor???

I like what Haley said too. I think that would be fun. I am trying to plan something for Cole's Birthday, but boys are just different.

you could design t-shirts, and paint them or something. or you could make bracelets, or you could buy canvas bags, and decorate them.

I am no help (no one over 9 yet and girl is only 3), but I remember seeing a blog post about this somewhere. I will look around and get back to you.

Love the pedi idea. (my friend has stuff for glitter toes.. let me know and I could ask her about it.)
Like alisa, I'm far removed from this age group. (Oh, just kidding I'm with them every week!!) I do know they LOVE candy, gum, talking, lip gloss, anything cute.

other ideas:
-ice skating
-teen girl tea party
-girly scavenger hunt... hunt for all things GIRL

As a girl in an all boy household, I think the pedicures/manicures, make-overs, and just girly giggles sounds like a lot of fun!

Check with salons or hair schools, they'll do hair parties, with updo's, or just wash and styles. Love the glitter toe idea - that would be fun. Have mom come over and help them all make a watch or bracelet. Have a pajama party. lots of fun ideas - very exciting! I'd be glad to help if needed.
