We have a lot going on this week. Taylor has a science fair board due on Wednesday which must be original in thought, well researched, and a "work of art." We had piano on Monday and a three hour shopping trip with Grandma. Torey has three performances of her fourth grade play, which require hair and make-up of which she is ecstatic. (Which reminds me - Will someone assure Taylor that mascara does indeed go on the bottom lashes? Thank you). We have a family party on Wednesday, as well as basketball practice, a friend party on Friday, activity days on Saturday as well as a basketball game. And then my dear friend, Alice, reminded me that Valentine's Day is this week as well. So, along with all of the running around for birthday paraphernalia, baking, and preparing, I must also get Valentine's cards. As I was contemplating a physical and emotional breakdown yesterday, lamenting the fact that I have no time to get it all done, the little cherubs came home and announced that their classes were having Valentine Box decorating contests and what could I turn out for them? Torey wants an I-pod shaped box which is easy enough, and the little man has decided that a box shaped like Optimus Prime's head will suffice. Taylor has yet to decide, but she is thinking of something in any shape but a box, preferably rounded, and including paper mache, and by the way, hers came in last place last year and let's not have a repeat of that again. I hate the public school system. Reed, sensing the tension emanating from my every pore, and correctly assessing the precarious nature of my nerves, immediately came to the rescue with this suggestion. He said, "How 'bout a boot"....

A busy week for sure! I kind of like valentine's in a boot. That is the coolest idea yet. And... do we have to do a box? I will probably find all this out on Thursday evening per bedtime. Yes, mascara does indeed go on the bottom lashes. Sometimes, if it isn't present, it is because it has been worn away by weariness. OR it was mistakenly forgotten while in a rush.
Hope your crazy week ends with love in that boot!
Do you have to do the makeup for Torey? I sent Clay with his costume and assumed he would be fine. He said someone was putting war paint on him!?
I would choose the boot too. And who cares about the awards as long as there's candy in the box... or boot.
Tell Reed I appreciated his boot, when I saw it I was reminded that one of my darlings needed a shoe box to take to school and decorate.
Very busy week. I like the boot idea Reed. It was very clever.
I like the boot. Very original.
Also, For a dramatic look, apply mascara only to the upper lashes. If you want to make eyes seem wider, apply to the bottom, too. Personally, i like to do the bottom. But make sure you only give lashes a light touch. If shes' not great at getting the bottom lashes try putting a tissue under them before application. Glad I could help.
they make it a contest? I haven't heard of that before, we too need to decorate a box tonight! and I worked last night and didn't sleep today i hear ya sister lifes exhausting!!!!! Good luck!
It has been crazy! Torey did great! Matthew just informed me today about the valentine box for their class. I wish we really could use a boot...or a grocery store bag? Guess we will be up tonight. Take care.Patty (I know it says aubrey)
