Braces hurt....

Torey got braces yesterday.  Just four in the front and two in the back.  They are purple and turquoise.  Yesterday they matched her shirt.  Today they did not.  She was a little concerned about this, but I told her that your teeth do not have to match your clothing, they only have to be clean.  As it turns out, braces hurt like the blazes when you first get them on.  Who knew?  Not me, or anyone else in the family, as Torey is the trailblazer in this area.   The school has been providing Tylenol, and I have been providing Motrin.  It doesn't seem to be helping.  Any ideas?

Funnier than you said...

LORTAB lots and lots of lortab. Don't forget, you must stop taking them @ 1p.m. so that when your kids get home you can look like your functioning properly.
Oh, for your daughter, tylenol and motrin, you do not want to waste the Lortab.

Torey, You are the cutest girl in braces I have ever seen and that is the truth. Aubrey found solace in ice-cream, popsicles and of course mashed potatos (her personal favorite remedy).

Torey! That is so exciting. AND you are very cute. But I know the feeling... THEY HURT! I think you are treating it with the right things. We (the dentist office) always said continuous advil for a couple of days. Good luck.

Torey- I must say the braces are quite becoming on you. Hopefully the pain eases soon. When your mouth hurts life is miserable.

I saw Torey at the school yesterday and she showed the braces to me. It brought back memories of me spending more than enough time in the orthodontists chair. I would also go with the Motrin/Advil as often as possible. I was also given some wax I could cover them with so they wouldn't chew up the inside of my mouth.
Good luck!

We feel your pain. Lots of ibuprofen and soft foods. The pain will lessen, and you will get to do it again next month, and the month after that, and the month after that,etc....
Oh! and wax is Kinzie's best friend. She keeps it in her pocket and in her desk at school.

Poor Tory. I know how you feel. You look amazing though. The only thing that I know of that will help that, (if they still hurt) is to take as much advil as you can get your hands on. Sleep as much as you possibly can. Sorry.

Beeeeutiful smile i'm sorry they hurt so much. One thing that might take your mind off the pain is for mom to take you shopping for more cloths to match the braces. One thing I am happy for is you got the Lehi School colors.

Sometimes that ambesol mouth gel helps at first cause your lips on the inside are just getting used to having the crap rubbed out of them constantly by metal, that's the only thing I did besides tylenol and motrin..good luck torey you look amazing!
