Sixty-seven years ago today this happy couple was married in California. She had just graduated from High School, and he was on 24-hour notice with the Merchant Marines. World War II was raging in Europe, and the Japanese would bomb Pearl Harbor in exactly one month. They were young and in love, and now
67 Years later, they are still young (in spirit - Grandpa is still convinced he is not a day older than eighteen) and in love. Congratulations to Grandma and Grandpa Simper who have achieved something that not many other couples have. They have shown us why they are part of the "Greatest Generation." Together, in their marriage, they have achieved greatness. What a perfect example to the rest of us of enduring love, patience, and friendship. I want to be just like them someday....
