Our Story....

We have just been tagged (Thanks, Charisse!) so here it is....

1.  Where did you and your husband meet?
We met at Granite Flats Campground over the 24th of July weekend in 1992.  My family was camping there with a group of friends and Reed was the friend of one of their kids, Russ.  Niki and I, and her friend Amber, were not there initially because we had to work.  We rode up one morning to have breakfast and spend the day with the family.  We were sitting around the campfire waiting for Kerry to get done cooking a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, crunchy bacon, and fluffy pancakes, etc. when Reed came wandering out with Russ.   Niki and I exchanged loaded glances (you know - someone new to look at - break things up a bit) and began to converse with Reed and Russ.  Kerry, with his ever alert eye, was on to us and started teasing us about our boyfriends and the fact that we had dates that night.  "Curse you!" we thought, but Kerry would not let up.  He even went so far as to say that when we are kissing them goodnight we should be sure to "not let them give you the tongue."  Reed, by this time, was on the ground laughing at our predicament and that is when I noticed his dimples and sweet laugh.  Sigh!  Don't even get me going on his amazing curls (in the mullet)  Sigh, again!!! We spent the day playing cards and that is how we met.

2.  First Thing We Said to Each Other?
I have no idea.  I imagine that it was very profound, however, because of our age at the time and the fact that we are both brilliant conversationalists!?!?!

3.  What Was Your First Date?
For our first date Reed and Russ (same friend) picked me up in Russ' 4 runner.  I should note here that Russ had not been able to get a date and insisted on me riding on Reed's lap so he didn't have to sit in the front seat alone.  Awkward - but only a little - we both kind of enjoyed it - I'm not going to lie to you.  Anyway, we went to Baskin' Robbins to get an icecream (Quarterback Crunch - Thanks, Niki!) and then we went four-wheel driving up in Hog's Hollow with Brody and Cristy.  It was a great time!

4.  First Kiss?
Reed is bold and daring and so I got a sweet little kiss (a peck) on the first date.  It was nice!

5. Long or Short Courtship/Engagement?
We dated for one year before Reed left on his mission.  Reed was gracious enough to take me to some dances even though he was already graduated.  I waited for him on his mission so I guess you can say our courtship was VERY long, a little over 3 years.  Our engagement was about 3 1/2 months, which could also be described as long because Reed was away at Snow College.

6.  Where Did You Get Engaged?
We got engaged in my parents basement at about 1:00 in the morning on September 22, 1995.  We were in a BIG fight and the only way Reed could think to get out of being in trouble was to ask me to marry him.  Enough said.

7.  Where Did You Get Married?
We got married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 19, 1996.  It was the happiest day of my life and also one of the snowiest.  There were icicles falling off of the temple and hitting people in the head as we were taking pictures.  By the way, if anyone has pictures please share because we have none (somebody lost the roll of film).  We were sealed by a man named Stringham.  At least that is what he said, no Brother, Elder, or Mr. - just Stringham.

8.  Did You Have a Honeymoon?
We spent the first night in Salt Lake City at the Little America Hotel and the rest of the week in our duplex in Pleasant Grove.  No details will be provided.

Anyway...  We have been married for 12 years, together for 16, and we are gloriously happy.  Reed is the man of my dreams and I am lucky to have him.  He is also lucky to have me, or at least that is what I tell him!

I just want to say you failed to mention that he had the hots for your little sister, Jammie, first! You stole him. But it's okay, really.. after 16 years.. I'm over it. really i am. I was too young at the time anyways. :)
