Nothing is Better....

than a finished project.  One of my biggest pet peeves is a project left unfinished and these have been haunting me for years.  This pinwheel quilt was finished last year and I just got it back from the quilter.  It is a happy little picnic quilt that I hope will serve us well.  Now all we need to do is actually go on a picnic or do something else.  We haven't done much of anything this summer.

This bug jar quilt has been waiting even longer to be finished.  I am thinking about five years.  So glad to have it done and out of my cupboard.  I just don't know what to do with it now.  I am thinking I might sell it because my kids are too big to have it.  It has lime green minky fabric on the back.  It is so soft and cuddly.
I just finished decorating my porch for my all time favorite holiday - the 4th of July.  I made two of the pillows out of vinyl so they won't fade.  Just for the record, vinyl is a bugger to sew.
So this is quite a boring post, can you tell I don't have much to say.  What is everyone doing for the nation's birthday?  Just curious.

Cute quilts & porch! I still have the bug fabrics and haven't even thought about sewing them. I love the colors on your pinwheel quilt, I'll have to come over and see them finished in person.

We'll probably go to the Cul-de-sac of Fire down at my parents house. Amateur fireworks are always entertaining!

Still love the porch pillows and have been eyeing the fabrics in your pinwheel quilt. I love it.

Fourth of July... can't even say we have a tradition on that day. Probably eat BBQ and let the kids do sparklers and who knows what after that.

I couldn't make plans until I knew how you had decorated your porch! Now I know, and knowing is half the battle, G.I. Joe, where did that come from!?! I am crazy jealous of your quilts, nice work!!
