Tonight marked the twilight of our family's baseball season. Taylor opened the season back in March, and Jake closed it out for us tonight. This season has flown by, due in part to the frosty weather for 2/3 of the games. Usually we sit out and bake in the sun, but this year we froze most of the games.

Taylor's team finished the season in third place and we won't even mention the tragedy that was the tournament. Let's just say that the base umpire was texting the whole game and they called the game 20 minutes early. The coach almost blew his top. There were many tears shed over it, but all in all we had a good season and Taylor proved she can hang with the big boys.

Torey had her first taste of softball and I think she enjoyed it. She is more of a social player and made a lot of new friends. We'll see what she decides to do next year. If she wants to play we may have to find another league as we were not very satisfied with our current one. There was not much instruction or competition, we were mainly there to have a good time. She did great for her first time playing and looked cute as a button with her shirt tied in a knot behind her back. Apparently one size does not fit all with shirts or hats!

Jake tore it up out on the T-ball field. He had a great time and learned a little more about the game. He did spend some time jumping around, placing the mitt on his head, and looking at the birds, but did better than most of the kids. He has a great little stance, and his dad has high hopes for him next year - if only we can get him catching better. Not bad for a little guys first year though.

We are going to miss many things about baseball. We will miss the family time, the atmosphere, and the competition. We will miss the snack shack and the bubble gum. We will miss hearing the coaches and dad's yelling things like "The ducks are on the pond" or "Throw the dark one" or "Way to battle in there." We will look back on the season with joyful remembrances but are looking forward to the future wondering... What does it hold for us?

Baseball!! I can't decide if I miss it or not. Mostly not, I think. Although I do miss hanging out with good friends on the sidelines.
They all look really cute in their uniforms. One size does not fit all when your 8 year old is still in a 4T. teehee. I am glad they all had a good time.
I must say Torey looks very fashionable in her uniform - the other two look great as well, but bug rocks it in her own way! Congrats on a great season!
Torey looks like a natural softball player! Glad the season was a good one for all of them. Love the picture of the ball... I am glad baseball is done for a while. It was fun while it lasted, but still ready for a break.
your kids are so talented!
