Double, double toil and trouble.....

Today the fifth grade class entertained us with a fantastic rendition of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" and let me just say it was excellent. Taylor was an amazing witch with a very creepy, witchy voice. These were her lines...."Thrice the black cat has mewed. Round about the cauldron go, in the poison entrails throw. By the pricking of my thumb something wicked this way comes!" She pulled it off flawlessly. Some of you may have noticed that she has a beard. Apparently Shakespearean witches were also very hairy witches. (Reed says this is an accurate portrayal of some English women so they are not so far off with the makeup). Taylor tried out for both Lady Macbeth and the witches and I was thrilled that she got the witch part because the voice she came up with was really scary. She also had a small part as a narrator and she was great at that as well. So that was the Thompson families cultural event for the week. Not bad! A special thanks to Taylor and the fifth grade class for exposing us to the finer things in life.
