The Grand Finale...

The grand finale to the Steel Days fun comes in the form of a fantastic fireworks display.  While Reed is doing his firefighting duties - in the form of a party and picnic - oh, and setting off fireworks, the kids and I have a party of our own at Grandma Glenda's.  She provides pizza, drinks, and fun while we provide snacks and entertainment.  I love to spend time with Reed's family.  They are so fun to be around and make everything into an event.  The kids have a great time playing with their cousins, and Taylor and Torey love practicing their babysitting skills on all of the little kids.  We were thrilled when we saw that our cousins from Idaho, Logan, and Colorado had made the trip to our town for the weekend.  We don't see each other often enough, so it was nice to take the time to visit with them and everyone else.  Here is a picture of the kids and I.  If you can get past the white glow, you may notice that we got a little bit of sun today!
Some of the aunt's tried to organize a race in the backyard and it was pretty funny to watch. The little kids couldn't quite understand the point, so there was a lot of falling down, acting silly, and general merriment!  It was a huge success.
Jake made a general announcement for the entertainment portion of the evening and showed us some of his crazy faces.  This was my favorite.
After all the food was eaten, and all of the games enjoyed, we took the time to sit and chat, and wait for the fireworks.  From where we sat we only saw the high ones, but they were pretty good I am sure.  And that, my friends, is how we spent Steel Days!  We hope you got to enjoy some of the events as well.
